We employed this fencing contractor to help us when a number of fences across a few rented properties when they sustained damage in the gales. Understandably they were extremely busy, but came out almost immediately on a Sunday to look and quote. The work was carried out very quickly over what must have been their busiest of times.I won't lie, there were a couple of snags, but VERY IMPORTANTLY they went above and beyond to remedy the issues and put everything right. That's what makes a genuine contractor. If you're sifting through a bunch of reviews on different fencing contractors then stop wasting time and give them a call.

Tom came round to quote yesterday morning and sent email quote immediately. I asked for a couple of modifications to the quote and these were actioned straight away. Once I was happy to proceed, I had an email (which I missed) and a follow up call because they could fit our job in yesterday afternoon. I was surprised but really pleased to get it done so quickly. Harry and his mate arrived on time and did a great job. Access through our neighbour’s garden, old concrete post and chain link in the way, long extension cable needed, not much room on our side due to our old shed…..nothing was a problem for these guys - they got on with it and were very friendly and polite. Thank you guys - I will recommend you to my family and friends :) Very easy to pay online too!

I wanted some of my patio removed and a concrete ramp built from my back door down to my gate. Tom arrived on time to give the quote which I was happy with, and as it was urgent I was booked in the same week for the works which I was pleased with. The guys who came to do the job were a bit late but were polite and friendly and kept me informed about what they were doing. Very pleased with the end result!

Things You Need to Know

The most important thing you need to know is which fence is your responsibility and which are the responsibility of your neighbour...
The safest way to establish this is to consult the property deeds. There will be a 'T' adjacent to the fence line, and if this is within your boundary, the fence is your responsibility. A party wall (e.g. shared) will display a 'T' on either side of the boundary.
Fence height is generally 2 meters and is generally set out by the local council who can be contacted for clarification on this point (check out guidelines on Planning Portal). While you may wish to exercise your rights, bear in mind that most fence height disputes occur even when you are within your rights. Often a simple conversation with your neighbour can avoid a lot of hassle.
Fence line position is also important to establish. Generally speaking, when a fence is replaced, it is replaced in the exact position of the previous fence. Again, a simple agreement can save a lot of stress and money.

Frequently Asked Questions

how deep are the fence posts?

Unless otherwise stated, all posts are concreted in to a depth of 18".
In soft ground, soil or turf is reinstated over the top of the concrete for a visually appealing finish.

Is the wood treated?

Unless otherwise stated all wood is treated in a brown of green finish.

Any other colour will need a spray or painted finish which can be provided at an extra cost.

How high can my fence be?

Generally speaking a fence cannot exceed 2 meters. Please see above.

Will you take away our old fence?

Yes.
Included in every quote is the removal of the existing fence if applicable. Often there is garden waste where we need to cut back to access the fence line.

Are quotes all inclusive?

All our quotes are inclusive with no hidden extras. Changes to the job are agreed in advance and if they incur an additional charge we will always inform you prior to going ahead.

Will you leave my garden tidy?

Yes.
We will always work as tidily as possible, leaving your garden exactly how we found it. In wet weather, footprints etc. are inevitable. But shortly after your garden will recover.
If there are any specific requests, please be sure to speak with the installers on the day.

Which side of the fence should I see?

When the fence is your boundary, the unspoken rule is to show the good side to your neighbour. However, by law you do not have to.

Can my fence panels be secured?

Yes.
We can install brackets to prevent fence panels being removed from slotted posts.
